My 94' 150 Ocean Pro has been running fine this season, except for the fact that I was only getting 4500 RPM (31 MPH )on the Tach. I let my tanks go to almost empty for the first time and all of a sudden my Tach goes to 5200 but the engine sounds weak only 30 MPH, even when doing 2000 RPM sounds...

My mechanic took out the brand new CDI voltage reg. he put in when he rebuilt the motor and put back the original OMC one and it has been working fine, (15V max ), he told me the CDI's are crap and he isn't using them anymore.

I wanted to know how much I should expect to pay for a new set of controls for a 1994 150 HP Evinrude Ocean Pro, newly rebuilt with old junky controls?

I did check the cable without the engine running, when the throttle was all the way down, I was able to move the linkage at the engine a little ( 1/4" ) more by hand, I don't know what that will translate to as far as getting more RPM's.
