The thrust washer they gave me in the kit is smaller in thickness than the one that was on there, it doesn't matter which position I put the hub on it all sits the same.

I have heard that for my motor it should be set to 6 as I have a 12 pole alternator, correct ?

If I just disconnected wires from back of existing tach and rewired them to a different tach and had someone just hold it while running, do you think this will be a good test to se if my tach is reading corrrectly ? Evinrude 1994 150 HP Ocean pro. Have to find a tach first.

I was just using the key with the emergency lanyard disengaged, that will not work with the shifter forward right?

Just bury the shifter forward, that would be putting it in gear, is this OK. My shifter is not the kind you can pull out and rev in nuetral. I can't rev my engine in nuetral, only a little with the fast idle lever.
