    rear seats

I blacked out the old Merc this past spring, and here is the cooler seat off a 17' Scout attached with bungies to two fairleads I mounted to the engine splash well board.

    rear seats

I found another solution. Recently I had a boat get repossesed from the marina and the guy picking it up said if there was anything we wanted off of it we could take it. This was a 2004 17' scout with the cooler seat in the front, well I got it, and it lines up perfect! I just added some tie...

    Boat name decals!

Any place that does signs should be able to do it. Most of those places should be able to upload the image from a disk or scan it into their computer to print it onto some vinyl sticker. And they can usually do any color combinations yo may want. It is realativly cheap too. I think I paid...

I am having an alien baby......

Congrats! I've got one coming towards the end of September. My first too. We just found out it's a girl...I've already started on my "boyfriend" speech for when she starts dating.... when she turns 25...lol. We didn't get any of those 3-d sonograms done because they're so dang expensive, but...

    rear seats

Hey guys. I was searching through the threads trying to find someone that has successfully fabricated or bought a seat to go across the back of the center console hull in front of the engine. I thought I saw something like it before, but I can not find it anymore.

Anyone else out there sharing my misery?

Just twice for me too. Gas is just too expensive when you're trying to fix up a house in preperation for the baby coming. It's getting tight these days.

Anybody tow with a Honda Pilot

My wife has the '04 and it does really good on the highway. we can go from Wilmington, NC to Bristol TN on just over a tank of gas. So that's about 390 miles on about 16 gallons of gas which figures out to be around 24.5 mpg. And that's going anywhere between 70-85mph. We can usually get about...

Anybody tow with a Honda Pilot

My wife has a pilot and she loves it. As far as space goes it's huge inside. Three rows of seats (comfortably) are great. I don't have a hitch on it so I can't tell you how it tows, but otherwise they are great vehicles.

    considering a new truck

The thing I don't like about the Dmax's is their suspension. It's way too soft. It's nice if you want your truck to ride like a car, but it feels way too soft for me. My Dad bought an '07 Duramax 2500 and it's comfortable to ride in, but I don't like it that much. With a suspension that soft it...

    considering a new truck

2004.5 Dodge 2500 here with the 325hp-600lb.ft of torque inline Cummins 6 cylinder. Nothing has the power numbers of the Cummins. Great truck, and gets really good mileage for what it is... a 9,000lbs beast! Mine has been very, very reliable.

    Oh HULL no!

If you are using a steep ramp the bow might actually be hitting the cross members anywhere on the trailer, even between the bunks. You can move the bunks in some, buy some rub pads for the center of the cross members, or just get another trailer. I would try moving the bunks inboard some if you...

    Help With Boat Identity.

WOW!! That is really interesting. It's funny, it only takes a 5% change in a design for it to be considered a "different" hull design. That's why we get so many look-a-likes such as Grady White and Sea Hunt, Boston Whaler and Edgewater, and so forth. Very interesting, and welcome to the site Dr. B.

    tailer size

Twin axles for me. I haul some of my customers boats around sometimes and I would not feel comfortable hauling mine without tandems. I'm weighing in at about 3,000# with half fuel, so that's good for me.

    Boat Shoes.

Raindow flip flops, untill I get on the boat, then it's naked souls for me!. They have great arch support, and they mold to your feet so after about 2 months they will only fit your feet! The only problem is since they are leather they have a tendancey to leave a nice brown thong line on your...

Do you guys flush your engines?.

Now I can believe that. My dad used to run a 16' dual console from 1980-1999 with a 70 hp Johnson. Never flushed it, changed the plugs and coils once and NEVER had a problem. He never even changed out the water pump on it!! I couldn't believe it when he told me that, but the old man was telling...

Do you guys flush your engines?.

nope, I almost never flush mine. If I know I am not going to be using it for more than a month I'll do it. Other than that I never flush it. There isn't anything but two thermostats that receive salt water contact, so even if you do flush it, you'll have to run the engine for at least 10-15...

    Emergency!

I've experienced at the marina, that we always have at least 10-15 boats every year that start shooting gas everywhere when the weather starts warming up. And even in the summer time, if we get a REALLY hot day the same thing will happen. Just try not to top off your tank untill it spills out of...
