    Trim Tabs!

Havis, With the stern so low, it looks like your boat could get airborne if you dropped the hammer. With twin 140s, you just might be able to. ;) Actually, it doesn't look as low as I expected. The bow looks high, but the waterline doesn't look any more than a few inches below 'normal'. Hull...

Looking good! 8) Still going with the FYL or are you pushing that off?

    200 Merc. Beeping

Ditto, Phester. IIRC, impellers should be changed every 100 hrs.

    Trim Tabs!

Don't have 'em on my Steplift yet, but had them on the Grady. Trim tabs are da bomb! While some hulls don't 'need' them as much as others, in my opinion, all boats are improved by having them. My crew likes to shift around while underway, so for me, one of the best benefits is roll leveling...

    Update on my wife

Good news, MJ. Prayers for more. :)

    Bilge Float Switch

Yup. And the gpm rating of a guy in a sinking boat is 10x more than the best bilge pump. ;D

Out with the old, in with the new. AGAIN!!

Nice ride, MJ. She'll look nice come winter with an inch of road salt crusted on her. ;D Kidding. I've had a black truck before and while it's a bitch to keep clean, there's hardly a better looking color when it's shined up.

    evinrude motor

I'm pretty sure you're looking at a regular carbed model. That said, that block has stood the test of time. It's been around since the later 80's and is probably still in production, plus some modernizations of course. There are some very knowlegeable guys (including OMC mechanics) on...

    '86 Dual Console on Ebay

I don't know that I'd trust a seller that doesn't know that a Mercruiser is an I/O and Mercury is the outboard division. ::)

    Knots & Glue

I use the Palomar for Fireline also. I recommend 'doubling it' and then tying.

I went and did it now!

We're from the same school of thought: It's better to ask forgiveness than permission. ;D

    Think I should buy this?

Ahoy, gents. Ever since the prognosis from the mechanic about my Johnny 175 (runs well, holes and pistons are clean, compression even, ignition wires could use preplacing, cooling water leaks, exhaust leaks, could run forever, could die the first trip) I've been keeping an eye out for a cheap...

    Starboard (again) HELP!

IIRC, Norva plastics has good prices. His eBay auctions are better deals, but he doesn't always have stuff for sale. When he does, it's a bunch of stuff. Anyway, if you're saving 30+% over retail at BoatersWorld/West/BoatUS, you can't go wrong. If you're sure of the pieces you need after...

    all charged up

Like RAP said, there's no problem if there's 16 amps coming out of your batteries. If there's much more than 16 [volts] coming from the alternator, yes something's wrong.

    Pin Stripe  and Mildew Removal

With the razor blades...file the corners round to cut down on your chances of gouging the gelcoat. The flat blade edge hardly digs into the gelcoat, but a corner will scratch the he11 out of it.

    Interesting boat...

...inspired by Our Man Ray. Sorry if this has been posted before, I don't remember seeing it, only the Surfhunter: The Harrier 25 by Hunt Yachts. More pics at http://www.huntyachts.com/yachts_harrier25_photo.htm

    Pin Stripe  and Mildew Removal

If the stripe is vinyl tape, use a hair dryer on high or a heat gun on low to loosen the adhesive. Use a razor blade to carefully get it started to peel up and then slowly pull and peel it up. The hair dryer is aimed just ahead of where it's peeling to loosen the adhesive and to warm up the...

How much do you think I'll get if I sell her now??

Re: How much do you think I'll get if I sell her n I'd think you could get at least half of what you paid. I had a Trophy CC that I was trying to sell and thought it was worth the $4000 I was asking for. I hardly got any interest until I just got fed up and knocked it down to $1800 just to get...
