Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

Oh, that. The guy I purchased the boat from built it. Not sure what's in it, I never opened it. .. .. Just kidding. I'll post some pics with a description of the set-up. It's not starboard, its like white plexiglass. Keeps prying eyes off the electronics.

Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

Thanks guys! I'll post a fresh group of pics either tonight or tomorrow. Here is a previous picture I loaded up on photobucket. This is of the old, pre-etec controls.

Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

I have some pics posted in my gallery (v-21), but I'll take a bunch more of the dash. This year I got a slip closer to my house in Matawan, NJ, and am keeping the boat on the Raritan Bay (lawrance Harbor). There are shipping lanes, tankers, NYC harbor, Statue of Liberty, etc,  nearby. I have a...

Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

Thanks. Actually, after I saw your pics from a few weeks ago, you actually inspired me to move ahead this year - before March 31 (I opted for the extended warranty). Wait until you hear how quiet it is - it is so strange.

Pulled the trigger on the etec (w/Pics)

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while but visit at least once a week. After about a year of doing research (and convincing the wife), I pulled the trigger and purchased a 2007 175 etec. Here is a picture of the old 1995 200 Evinrude: And here is the new beauty: I took her for a test ride on...

    I did it

Congrats on the new engine. Question - does the $14,200 include any trade value for your old engine?

    my 87 again

Hey Lumber, nice boat and love what you did with the teak in earlier posts. What were you thinking for the repower? I want to do the same but just haven't had time to do the research for prices. I want a Yamaha 150 4 stroke. Just curious how much you have looked into it. Im from Jersey too. I...

    Yo Blue_Runner....

"So far so good on that - haven't had a problem. I think its high time that I inspect all of my thru hulls and the scuppers though. I'm getting some water in the hull - not much at all - but it bugs me and I want to find the source."-Blue Runner BR - I get water too and I think its from under...

    V21

I am pretty sure the v21s are rated to hold up to 200hp. Ironically, I seam to recall the v20s can have up to a 225. In addition to HP, also make sure that the weight of the engine is ok too. The v21 has scuppers that drain out of the cockpit and too much weight will bring water into it.
