Well I'm making some progress. Old transom cut out and new wood already cut to go in. Going to use 2 layers of 3/4 inch ply laid up with several layers of csm and 1708. Also going to run 2 small knee braces from the outer stringers up to the new section of transom and 2 more larger knee braces...

Granted I havnt had to change a battery but you have access to everytging in that area through the top hatch covers that are right on top in the back. I think the seats block the view of the covers I'm talking about in that picture.

They're good trucks the 4.3 is a solid engine if it's the v6 model it's essentially a 350 v8 with two cylinders choped off. They aren't going to be great on gas. That being said I'd rather have the Yukon with the 6.0
