    BUNKS OR ROLLERS?

Got bunks. I've had both and prefer bunks.

    V-21 Transom

I don't know the answer, but my bet would be on wood. If I might get on the soapboax a little, wood makes a great core material and I'd never stay away from a boat because it was built with wood coring. The catch is, that all the wood must be properly encapsulated in fiberglass and otherwise...

    What's with the rooster tails?

CB, The trim didn't seem too high. The hull wasn't porpoising or squirrely like it is when you're trimmed up too much. RAP, Yeah, it's more like that. Rooster tail is more like a fan or fountain shape arching up and behind the boat. Next time I'll have someone take the wheel and I'll peek over...

    What's with the rooster tails?

I've taken two trips so far and the last one was on a really calm day. I looked back and noticed that there seems to be a lot of spray coming up behind the transom. ('87 Step w/ 175 Johnson on a notched transom. Is it because the keel is flatter? Maybe it's because I've had an underpowered boat...

    Friendly V-20 owners

Got another, "cool" little story: I was fishing last Sunday and it was a bluebird day with hardly any wind and you could hear people in other boats talking. Some guy in a beautiful 30', downeast-style boat pointed to my Steplift and I could hear him say that one of his buddies has a boat like...

    v20 parting out

Bad timing for me, too. If this was exactly a year ago, I'd have snatched it up in a heartbeat. :-/ Not that that's victore's fault. If anything, it's a compliment that it was a schweet deal on what looks to be a nice rig.

    Picture of Real Pirates

I want one of those LRADs to shoo away the friggin' blowboaters that seem to always cut right through a mess of boats fishing instead of going the F around. >:(

    FREEBOARD ?

I went fishing on my Step' for the first time last week. IMHO gunnel height is fine for kids. Even adults are comfy unless it's really rocking. But if you're releasing fish and constantly bending down to the water there's not a lot of gunnel height to lean your thighs into when the boats...

What's up with Gallery Account Request?

I would send bigshrimpin a private message. This is his site that he hosts for us rowdies for free. He's prolly been busy, as I haven't seen him around that much.

    bunk trailer setup ?

Having just taken the boat out for the first time last weekend, I noticed something I hadn't before. When the boat's on the trailer, it's supported by the bunks and touching only the forward-most keel roller. I kinda' thought more keel rollers should support the hull weight, and the bunks are...

Hard Wood Floors in a Boat?

Twenty five coats of clear lacquer ought to do the trick. ::)

Hmmm...if I get the job I just interviewed for, I might be very interested. We'll see in the next two weeks. Nice rig, CT!

    Port Holes?

The thought did occur to me too, Skools. With the flair and a pair of oval port holes, it might look cool, like an alien. 8) Let's see if we can do up a rendering...

    Finally popped my cherry

Well, I was up until 2am (thank God for the time change) getting the boat ready enough to take my maiden voyage and go fishing Sunday at 5am. Splashed her and she didn't sink, so that was the first hurdle. It took some coaxing, but I got the motor started and everything was good enough to pull...

    20th Anniversary Edition V20?

Just my opinion, but that's a super sweet deal for anything under $6000. It's pretty much a turn-key rig. Alum. trailer, color fish finder, bimini with curtains: that'd be over $2700 to buy all that new. Clean bottom, gas-guzzling but probably bullet-proof carbed Yammy with a recent rebuild. My...
