The guy that bought my boat said that the magnets were the cause of death for my motor, or at least what left me stranded (and set in motion my selling the whole rig). Magnet(s) fell off, trashed the stator, and partially jammed the flywheel. They seem to be an achilles heel for an otherwise...

I'm kinda suprised no one has cut the foredeck off and turned a cuddy into a bowrider, especially with some of the fiberglassing talent I've seen in some of the project boats. My SeaCraft just has a little "tub" with a molded in seat that's perfect for one or two adults or three kids to sit in...

I'm sure the reputation of Force engines is deserved, but I gotta' say that now and then they got it right. My 125 was probably closer to 105hp at the propshaft, but gawl-dangit if that thing wasn't bulletproof. Unstabilized fuel? No problem, started right up. Laid up for 10 months? No problem...

I had an '88 Force 125 on my first boat, but I never fiddled with the tach, which BTW, was this big, square, color-scale thing that looked more like a toy. That's not really much help, but I think you already know you're probably buying a new tach. Here's something that might help...

I did a quick read, so sorry if it was mentioned already. Don't get that chit on your trailer or it'll eat the galvanizing right off. :o Wonder if you have to be careful with aluminum trailers? 8)
