That is one sick looking dash!!! I have to wait until next year...for a project like that. I've been a V owner for 6 mos now and have invested $4500 into project.. electronics trailer and engine and cosmetics... looking forward to what the future brings.. I think I am Hooked!!

I looked all over including arco and the only motor I can find is the newer one. someone said it bolts on , but you have to use different mounting bolts. If it doesn't work I will have to buy the newer set up. I was trying to avoid the $350 + price tag

the only after market motor I can find is for the newer style with the two top bolt pattern.. is it safe to assume that it will match up fine.. its just a motor??

Great News, after lots of work ... she manage to fire up!!! I am pumped!! just have to repair oil sending unit, install outdrive .. reinstall Harmonic Balancer, belt and away we go

what is the hole on the portside of the block above the oil pressure sending unit? Looks like there should be some sort of screw plug maybe?

thank you kevin. I believe it would of been easier to pull the engine! lol I have muscles in my arms that I didn't I have that are killin me!!! as far as tank goes, ill dump some gas in and suck it up with elec pump.. it isn't too bad. I am pyched it isn't seized and it actually turns over...

Starter was able to get out there for a few hours.. I got the starter in after a few hours.it was a pain in arse to get to the bolts. I am not a mechanic, but geez got to be a easier way. Maybe an air rachet? got it bolted in, hooked up wires, and it turned right over.... nice. nasty looking...

Bad Gas going back at it today.. new starter(bought 2,1 Back up), rotor, cap, wires, plugs. drained gas 100%..also new oil sending switch...questions.. I see a small amount of dirt particles in bottom of gas tank.. not good for carb. should I add gas and try and suck it out or will filter...
