    rotten stringers

Welcome to the site! There are a lot of guys on here that have gone through this same project. There is a ton of info and pics to help you out. Sounds like you're getting ready to get into a BIIIIG project, but trust me, it will be well worth it when you're done. Check out bulderfl's gallery at...

    Skool's 250 Sea Ray Project???

The interiors are cheaply constructed. I have personally seen the bottom layers of fiberglass from a brand new 50 footer that was damaged when it fell of a travel lift at another marina here in town, and I can tell you it is only about 50% thicker than the bottom of a V! Now for a 50 footer to...

Looks like IKE is heading my way.

Hopefully it will just be a cat 2 when it landfalls. I don't know how storm surges react down that way, but a cat 2 doesn't do too much surge damage here. Anyway, good luck to you guys down in Texas. We'll be praying for you!

    Skool's 250 Sea Ray Project???

Question???? Why in the "h-e-double-hockey-sticks" would you ever do anything other than sink a searay????? Be careful, it's likely to just crumble to pieces when you start taking it apart.

    Hanna

Yeah it wasn't too bad here in Wilmington, but it was pretty bad for a tropical storm. I went down to the marina at 11:30pm Friday. It was an hour before high tide and the water was almost over our bulkheads. We had three to four foot waves rolling down the creek and breaking over our first...

    Not Happy Labor Day

I hate it for you down there in GA, but I don't need that thing coming up this way. Has there even been a landfalling hurricane in GA?

so who are you voting for

Trust me, as much as I absolutely LOVE my V20, if I had billionaire corps backing me up, I would own something much, much, much larger!

so who are you voting for

I'll tell you what fellas, I'm too young now, but in 6 years I will put my hat in for the presidential race. I've never been arrested, or even gotten a speeding ticket. Never tried drugs. Always paid my taxes, worked all my life and came from a self made family. My father dropped out of high...

    Vhf Location?

As said, it will interfere, but most compasses have compensators that you can adjust to calibrate the compass back. I would suggest just getting a a hand held berring compass. That way you can hold it up away from any metal and get a true magnetic north reading. I have a handheld anyway just to...

so who are you voting for

I assume you are talking about wire tapping? I have absolutley no problem with wire tapping someone that might have nothing but destruction in mind for the great people of this country. I have no fear, and nothing to hide since I have no ambitions of wide spread terror and destruction. I...

so who are you voting for

I get a little choked up reading that. I absolutely, 100%, posetively agree. I don't particularly like Mccain, but he is, as stated, the best candidate for the job. Well said!!!!

    '89 Sportfisher dual console panel

Oh I almost forgot. The reason your welds broke is probably from lack of angular support. The top should have some 45's welded in there to counter back and forth and side to side movement. With just the straight legs it doesn't stand a chance. CROSS SUPPORT!!

    '89 Sportfisher dual console panel

Love the panel too! How was the stability with that tower on there? I know the V's can be pretty rocky with such a deep v and farely narrow waterline beam. I like the concept though. As far as making it detachable, maybe have the ends of the top and the bottom of the tower rounded, and have one...

    24' 1982 Wellcraft...nice

I agree, loooootttttttttsssssss of fishing room. Maybe a good paint job, or even just a really good cleaning would go a long way with this thing.

http://wilmington.craigslist.org/boa/810862569.html This boat is from my marina. I had no idea the hull was as old as it is. He's looking to down size. I've never known him to have any problems with it the past ten years. If I didn't already have a V, I would snatch this up in heart beat.

    rear seats

I assume you are talking about the floor cabinets in the back right? Well, they were in really good shape when I bought the boat, but in the spring of '07 I used this product called new glass2. It is a wipe on polymer that is basically putting new plastic on the hull. I haven't done my yearly...
