Had to run the bilge pump alot during our Baja fishing adventure...cleaning up the boat today...found the source of the leak: there is about an 8-10" linear gash on the inside of the port "sponson"...thru the glass (i can push on it with pretty good flex) I believe it was courtesy of my...

So...washing the boat after the Baja trip...found what I think is the leak...found a 8 inch gash on the inside edge of the port "sponson"..definitely wide enough to take on water...just forward of the port seating area.. guess Ive got some fiberglass work ahead...glad its in an area accessible...

well...come to mention it... enroute to Gonzaga Bay in Baja,,we dip hit a dip hard enough to lift the bow out of the bow chock on the trailer... crawling under the boat doesnt show any obvious cracks

Its an outboard...unpainted...and trailered but without a ramp nearby I'll start by filling it with a hose and see where it goes Thanks for the multiple replies.. Mike

So...just returned after a few days fishing in Baja....had to run the bilge pumps several times per day every day at the end of the last day...after running the bilge pump till "empty" ...pulled the transom drain and lots of water still came out... seas were flat...no known or obvious hull...

a couple of before and after shots...decided to lose the tangerine vinyl and striped astroturf...to nautolex and upgrade the cockpit a little' sweet ride..loaded with 4 aboard and gear....flat seas at 39mph(gps) with the bimini top up!!

Here's the pics... a couple of the rehab result (got rid of the original 74 bright tangerine, old gauges and switches and the black/tangerine striped Astroturf..the water pics are at Gonzaga Bay...Baja Sea of Cortez and a maiden voyage (15miles) out to Isla San Luis...made 39 MPH (GPS)...

So...took the ole Airslot with its 140 Rude out on the Sea of Cortez (Baja) last weekend...had a blast...fully loaded ( 4 guys and gear) trimmed out to 39 MPH GPS......cruised out to the inshore islands,,,,caught coolers full of triggers ands spottie back again in October

The prior owner of my 79 Airslot, pulled some of the foam to install water separator and swim step on the transom. Need to source some replacement foam blocks...looking for source...probably talking about 4-5 sq ft total...just the port side of the transom.. thanks

Got to take my son to Baja for his 1st time highlights included his 1st Sierra...pulling a Rebel jointed across a bait ball...and he got to play with a 20ft whale shark in out little tin boat(12ft Valco) for about a half hour...his smile almost broke his face...no trophies but lots of father/son...

was able to clean up the plate...then lemon juice and a candle...:) here's the numbers: Max HP 165 Passenger Load: 750 pounds Total Pax, Motor and Gear 1210 pounds total weight seems a bit lite for an almost 19 foot boat? oh well...it is...

Lots of catalogs from 70 thru 79..but none have capacity info except HP rating...looking for passenger load and max load...

anybody? found a source for the replacement plate...still need source for the specs?

The capacity plate on our 74 Airslot 185 Sport O/B is badly faded. Where can I find this information and where can I order a replacement decal??
