Could you be a bit more specific? What time this morning did you notice the problem? How long were page loads taking? Was it slow only for posts or were regular page loads taking forever? It seems to be working fine at the moment.

    "Mouse Milk", try it !!!

The magical blue tipped wrench can be a lifesaver when used wisely. Right now I have a bad regulator which I need to replace, but I love my bottles!

    Site Issues

It is working pretty well for me every time I visit. I am using Firefox and the delay is minimal - under 5 seconds. Will definitely keep an eye on it for a while. Please post any problems you observe. Try to be as detailed as possible. What you were doing when you experienced the delay, time...

How long is the delay you have been experiencing? Is it longer than a few seconds? When are you most often noticing the delay? Is there a certain time of day or certain days of the week that are worse than others? Does it happen when you are posting a reply or simply clicking a new link to read?

    mississippi

Just about all of the fishing is closed in the Mississippi Sound at this time due to the BP Oil Gusher. Just yesterday, the first tarballs were reported at Pascagoula, Deer Island, the beach in Biloxi near Rodenberg and extending to about Edgewater Mall in various places, and even all the way...

    Oil spill

Is there a link to that story? I do recall that the Obama Administration offered to help BP right after the initial incident and BP turned them down. Probably Washington should have insisted on getting involved from day one. There is plenty of blame to go around, but lets not lose focus of...

    Server Problems

That is a good suggestion and I will certainly try that if this doesn't work, but for a good many reasons I believe the database server is at the heart of our problems. Our problems here began when the server farm swapped out the physical machine that this site resides on with a newer machine...

    Server Problems

Just to keep you all up to date, I have been noticing some slowness creeping back into this site over the past day and this must be dealt with. So, for the next few hours and especially tonight, we will be working on the server. During this time, you may notice some issues with performance...

    Just so you know

Good luck Maco. Here's hoping you have an uneventful procedure and a speedy recovery. I will keep an eye on things for you here while you are down for the count.

    Oil spill

The story we have been hearing is that if they were to somehow totally stop the flow, the pressure on the weakened Blow Out Preventer (BOP) would cause it to rupture or blow off the well altogether. I'll say this much for BP. When they screw the pooch, they go all in.

    Server Problems

I am glad it is running faster now. I have been watching this situation carefully, but the more eyes the better!

    Oil spill

With each attempt at fixing the problem, they seem to have only succeeded in making it worse. When they clipped the bent riser pipe off the BOP yesterday with the giant shears, it looked like the flow more than doubled. So far I have not seen a lot of progress with the AssHat that they put in...

    Oil spill

No nukes in the Gulf please. There are enough things dying out there as it is. What I have never understood from the beginning of all of this is why nobody positioned a tanker out there and put it to work collecting the oil/water as it comes to the surface. Instead, they loaded the oil with...

    Why Buy BP Gas Now?

I have never bought BP gas. Back in the day, we used to call the local BP station the "Water Works" because their gas was so weak and crappy. I have a particular bone to pick with all of them because I DO live in the area affected by the gusher, and I am far from alone. Feelings of anger and...

Why is the v20 site so sloooooooow???????

For whatever reason, the server farm decided that Memorial weekend was a good time to swap out the server that this site resides on. This action caused some problems with Gallery and also seems to have buggered up the database server which this message board depends on. The problem with Gallery...

    Server Problems

Thanks for the salute and apologies for the problems. I would like to blame BP for our troubles but, as Joe stated at the top of the thread, the server farm was really the culprit. They decided that Memorial Weekend would be a good time to swap out the server that this site resides on, and that...
