    2003 yamaha f115txrb surging

Um, it's not adjusteable if it's anything like the bigger yamahas I've worked on. Most likely it was carboned up, and they cleaned it.

    blazer/trailblazer..........

Theres nothing wrong with the 4.3l vortec imo. Only real downfall was GM using crappy injector designs in them prior to around 03 or so I believe. Which are you leaning towards, a blazer, or a trailblazer as they are 2 completely different vehicles. I have nothing against the mid size blazers...

    Transom/ stringer rot

The weight difference between a 4.3l and a 5.7l is only about 75 pounds actual difference if comparing them with the same drive and cooling system. Mercruiser tried using aluminum exhaust manifolds to get that 150 lb difference, and lets just say that experiment failed. The only real advantage...

Was cruisin craigslist and seen this one. Looks very clean and priced right if the pictures represent the actual boat. https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/boa/d/1996-welcraft-v21/6273675549.html

    2003 yamaha f115txrb surging

Tps can cause surging, but so can any of the other sensors on the engine. Pull a $100 bill out of your wallet, light it on fire, if this doesn't bother you, then by all means start throwing parts at it. If it does bother you in any way, pay the money and have it scanned. Way to many engines...

    2003 yamaha f115txrb surging

You can pick up a cable and software off of ebay for $120 I believe I paid. If you were closer, I'd hook it up for you. I'm not sure if I could copy my disk, but I've heard you can find the software online to download, then you get a usb to obd2 cable, and make 3 jumper wires to connect it(I...

    Corroded Bell Housing

Permatex used to make an aluminum putty stick. Just cut a piece off, rolled it until mixxed, then stuck it in place. It actually held very tight, was even strong enough to be drilled and tapped if needed.

    OMC SeaDrive 2.0L Won't Start

You didn't take the shift linkage loose. Look under the carbs on the front side of the powerhead, and com8ng in from the port side, you'll see the shift linkage. I want to say it's a 5/16" hex head bolt. DO NOT DROP IT taking it out. If you do, it can fall down the whole for the shift shaft, and...

    OMC SeaDrive 2.0L Won't Start

My bet is you didn't get the carbs cleaned correctly, and your pickup tubes are plugged. Otherwise you need to inspect it for cracked reeds. As to dropping the lower unit, did you remove the trim anode and get the bolt above it?

    94 175 Johnson opinions

94 is not a crossflow, in 91 omc went to loopers for all the v6 engines. But they were just as thirsty on fuel.

    94 175 Johnson opinions

Great engine, arguably one of the best omc ever built. It LIKES gas, and parts are starting to get tough to find as it's been out of production since 2004.

    Oh boy...not another prop ?

That is a lower rpm engine. 5500 is it for it, so 5000 isn't that bad(reccomended wot rpm range is 4500-5500). My question is, has it always ran this way? Many times people get there prop rebuilt, and lose speed, they think it was the engine, but in reality it was just the die the prop shop used...

    Opinions of theWellcraft 23 Fish

It's an ok boat, but not ahuge following with it's very low dead rise of 16 degrees(it has less dead rise than the v-20 has). Everything I've read on the 228/230 says it's ok at anchor with the flatter 16 degree dead rise hull bottom, runs well with low HP, but will pound the snot out of you in...

    Yamaha stalls

Wasn't sure what HP where they all went fuel injected. I know in 03 there smaller 4 strokes were still carbed engines. Since it's injected, have you checked the throttle body to see how carboned up it is? I believe yamaha uses a pwm style iac, and I'm not sure if they have adaptive iac or not. I...

    Larger boat discussion

I like the jackshaft design as well. All of the weight forward advantages of a straight inboard, and all the advantages of an i/o with being able to trim the drive for shallow operation or just better running performance and docking ability. My ultimate dreamboat would be a 29 blackfin with a...

Boat seems to be missing 10 mph and 700 rpm

I tried getting into teaching(my wife is a teacher, so it seemed a good fit). Her school lost there auto tech teacher on short notice, but still wouldn't consider taking me because they know about my physical problems(and have seen how many days my wife has missed because I have to go to the ER...

Boat seems to be missing 10 mph and 700 rpm

Me and Jersey do NOT go together. I despise going through there for my wife to visit her family(what kind of nanny state won't let you make aleft hand turn?). And my wrenching days are done. Between carpal tunnel, trigger finger, joint degeneration, 2bad shoulders, bad hip, knees, ankles, 12 bad...
