    New controls

Yes, the binnacle is the control box with the lever(s). Universal cables are the worst and most aggrevating to work with. The important part is to get the shift cable adjusted properly. You have multiple adjustments for it. You shouldn't need to adjust the cable that runs from the bracketto the...

    14.6 volts

14.6 is fine. You would be SKEERED if you ever seen how high voltage got on the smaller non regulated charging systems. Most outboards with a charging system up to 7-8 amps was just a rectifier with no regulator. Those systems can get up over 16 volts with a completely charged battery. You had...

    New controls

I really liked morse cables that I put on my Honda, they were very smooth. Make sure and get the correct length cables, make sure they lay without binding or any sharp radiuses in them, you may have to loop them coming out of your binnacle depending on how yours is set up. Most of the time...

    Spark plugs Yamaha 150 carbed

Some manufacturers will have 2 plug reccomendations for 1 engine depending on useage. Match the plugs to the engine and it's useage. If you idle alot you can normally run 1 heat range hotter, but you want to be carefull running a hotter plug at high rpm's as it can overheat and melt the plug and...

It's compareable to a 75hp gas outboard, so that 385 lbs makes it lighter than my 75hp Honda I had on my carolina skiff. There was talk of pushing them up to 70hp to compete with 90hp gas outboards.

Neander shark is the German company building diesel outboards. They're building smaller 2 cylinder diesel outboards, and according to Yanmar, they're building there new diesel outboard as well. It's a quite interesting design with dual crankshafts, four rods, and 2 pistons...

I ended up buying a couple of cheap kvd knives from wal mart, I think they were made by mustad and are the Kevin Van Dam series. It's a 6" filet knife with a rubber type handle, black on top and red on the edge side. I use them for everything from utility, to filet, bait, general cutting, meat...

A quick hello to my mates

Sorry to hear about the problems, but if it's any help, you're not alone. My back has given up on me as well, but the drs tell me theres nothing I can do, it's just how it has healed from all of my car wrecks, and I'm stuck with it. I've also had several failed surgeries that have made things...

I don't know if I would use the bmw drive as a good reference. Everything I've read on them says they were nightmares. I do think there is a German company designing a diesel outboard.

    Southern Magnolia not happy

I probably shouldn't say this, but very rarely are we out fishing in those conditions. Out on the water it's very rarely those conditions to begin with. So long as there is a little breeze, it's normally not that bad out there. It's normally nicer 40 miles offshore than it is 40 miles inland.
