    Hatch repair

Just cast some new corners in solid glass and then glass them on. The core only saves weight and a few dollars in resin, but the additional cost/weight of solid glass corners is insignificant.

    Repower I/O Qs.

kW ratings are identical to horsepower, it's just metric units. But seriously, if you have 2 engines both turning props at the same speed and are both making the same horsepower, the torque seen at the props is the same, regardless of the torque output of the engine.  If the torque output of...

    Repower I/O Qs.

I'm talking crankshaft ratings and I thought he was replacing a 260hp 350 Chevy, those are rated at 350 ftlbs at the crankshaft. Torque is kind of a meaningless number, though. If you ever look at a prop curve, the chart will make no mention of torque. Horsepower is all you need to know.

    Best Bottom Paint

If you want the best for anti-fouling, compare the weights of a gallon. A heavily copper laden paint will weigh about 2 or 3 times as much as a regular gallon of paint. Newer paints use their copper more efficiently, though. Vivid weighs very little per gallon, it uses cuproisocyanate as a...

    Question about this hose...

The hose may cost a little more than $10 if you replace it, though.

My boat didn't even have one of those.

    Best Bottom Paint

Pettit Vivid. Works well for boats frequently in and out of the water and looks the best, too.

It is a rack and pinion. I think it's an old OMC setup adapted to work with a Volvo 280. The boat was originally OMC. I think it works great, never seizes up, and doesn't require too much effort to turn the boat hard over at full power (it gets pretty firm, though).

    Repower I/O Qs.

That motor has horrible torque. 220ftlbs at 2600 rpm? Your oringinal engine made 350 ftlbs peak and would probably have been close to 300 ftlbs by the Cummins 2600 rpm peak rating.

I believe the fuel guage sending unit uses only one wire and a ground. The ground terminal is obvious because it is not insulated. Connect the insulated terminal to the SND (or whatever they call it) terminal on the guage. The gauge should have a input/snd terminal, a +, and a GND. Just wire...

    80's Chevy 6.2L Diesel - tow vehicle.

The 6.2's are only loud if they're out of tune. Another reason to get the turbo is that it quiets things down and it decereases the amount of smoke.

    Wax and grease remover

Use it with a Scotch Brite pad and plenty of rinse water.  This works well for removing amine blush when working with epoxies, too. Once the water no longer beads off the surface, the wax/grease has been removed.

    Wax and grease remover

I prefer MEK over acetone for wiping down prior to sanding because it doesn't evaporate as quickly. It gives you a little more time to wipe down.

    80's Chevy 6.2L Diesel - tow vehicle.

The only good thing about the 6.2L's is that they get great gas milage, 18+ mpg in a 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban.  There are a few problems I hear about all of the time.  They don't make enough horsepower, only about 120.  They tend to crack pistons, this is a result of injectors dripping fuel on the...

Ask me to take pictures or measurements of anything that defines the v20 hull and I guarantee they'll match the 68 Seabird V21 hull.  The 70's and up Seabirds were a different hull, but I believe the 68 Seabird V21 mold became the 70's up V20 mold. It's even got the strakes on the bottom that...

I believe this is the precurser to the V20.  They have to have been made from the same mold.  This boat is a 1968 model.  This is a cored hull, it should be very light weight and very rigid.  The 600lb motor (Chev. 350) and 200lb drive might make it a little heavy, though. It's a Seabird V21.

Not really a V20.  The shape is the same, but the construction is entirely different.
