Rp - Pulled the original pedestal and found that it was attached from the underside with T-nuts. They had done the job there and I'm sure there is a lot of stress being applied as people rock back and forth in the seat.

Just did mine. If your going with bolts, you might try 'T-nuts'. They have virtually no profile to countersink especially after tightening and carpeting over. I'm going to lag though. Carpet - Got it a HD. Paid .44 per sq ft (3.96 per sq yd) It is on 12' rolls and they'll cut it to what you...

The foil sounds crazy, just crazy enough for me. Tried it and it made more improvement than anything else. I don't think that 'new' shine will ever be back, but much better. The whitish etched look is gone and it is now a clean darker uniform flat gray. Looks pretty good next to the fittings...

Also, I've got pic's to post and a gallery request in. Is the only way, to open a photobucket account and transfer them there and back out? That seems to be the deal as is wrighten in the 'how to' section. Pete

Tried steelwool, bartenders friend, brasso, a little 600 paper on a inobvious spot, and anything I could think of. Do you think it was chrome plated and that the plating is gone? I see the shine in the area that was under the old fittings. I really thought this would be a simple quick shine...

My 82 is getting new SS fittings for the bow rail. I thought shining up the rail itself would be a snap. But have had no luck - it's not pitted just dull or maybe an etched, whiteish look. Any ideas or experience is appreciated. Same with the wind shield frame. Need some aluminum majic.

I've seen hardware on the cockpit floor of some v-20s that I think is for some sort of support for a transom seat. Does anyone have a good photo of the hardware and the seat as it fits? I think it's used for a full transom or for split seats in an I/O. How well does this set up work? Any info is...
