    Bottom coat removal

Forget the 'marine' labeled strippers. I started with all that stuff and found a much better product and at a way cheaper price. Go to a Home Depot and get a gallon of 'Bix spray on'. It is the one that says ok for fiberglass (I think the orange can) and I used it on mine, no problem. $14.95 for...

    Done for the year pics

82 - The results of my labor this summer. Was able to get out a few times and hope for a few more. Limits so far on each trip - must be the boat. I know - I gotta chaulk around the gas deck. Had to get out!

    Rupert, how much?

Jean I may be interested in the cockpit cover also - only for a sterndrive (no motor cover just straight across the back). Just looking for a ballpark price.

    Some B4 and after pics

Stinky, Got it from Boaters World. The rigid part is three 20 foot lengths at 30 bucks each. The insert was 70 foot continuous at 65 bucks. So $155. If you want the model numbers let me know. Like everything, I fidgeted around a long time looking and deciding and came up with this one. I think...

    Some B4 and after pics

Thanks, The rub rail is made by TACO. It is rigid vinly with a flexible vinyl insert. It seems to be the biggest difference maker hour-for-hour so far. The paint, I sprayed straight white. Here's what the rail looks like.

    Some B4 and after pics

Did the accesories (see rod boxes in repair section) and refinished the teak, etc. Now I did the hull on my 82. Stripped and painted it white and added a new rub rail. Just putting stuff back together. Not done, but had to post. She's starting to amount to something. It's getting fun now.

    Trailer Bunk Replacement

Hey Bill Borrow!? I don't know what they called it (sure there was some fancy name) but it was labeled as indoor/outdoor and that was the price for sure. They cut me 4 - 12 inch (generously - 17-18") pieces (1.33 Sq yds) that were 12' long. I have two side guides and two bunks along with the...

    Knots & Glue

Re: Knots & Glue Bill I use it also - you'll love it. Put it on your perch rod also. The stuff is like telegraph wire for feeling bites. Be careful you can also cut yourself pretty easy with it and biting off the end just won't work any more. Try the 'palomar' knot - strong and easy to...

    Franco - cockpit lights

Hey there Just noticed the cockpit lights you have when I was checking out the fishing section.  That looks like a great location - probably no glare to the driver.  How do you like them.  Would you change anything. What kind are they.

    My 'new' 82 pic's

The stripper for bottom paint that worked the best is called 'Bix'. They have several varieties - I got the spray on (comes with a spray bottle) - this one is in an orange can and specifically says approved for fiberglass on the front. Worked VERY well - let it sit maybe 15-20 and paint melted...

    My 'new' 82 pic's

Thanks - appreciate the insperation. I'm in the middle of so much it's gettin overwhelming. Painted the engine box, rod boxes, transom hatches, and the two part slide hatch. I'm feeling like this thing just might amount to something. The big test will be the main paint job - that's just around...

    Rod Box repair pic's

Step - I sanded the area and wiped with acetone then laid the glass. If you've never worked with fiberglass, it's easy, don't be intimidated - it's just like paper mache when you were a kid. The next day it will be rock solid. On the frontside it was sanded clean and wiped like before. Filled...
