One fluke

Went fishing today in raritan bay and only got on3 keeper fluke. 18 1/4 inches. Just mad3 it. A lot of dog fish and no bluefish. What’s going on? The false albacore should be there now. Nothing

Step, at least you got one - Enough for one samich - Your lucky your regs are 18" - Here in New York we are at 191/2" - This time of the year, I first saw the Albacore right off of Breezy Point - Chasing those speedy devils all over the place - I hope I'm not sticking my nose in too much - But, you just might be on to some thing - I haven't heard any thing about them - Fishing in the NYBight hasn't been the same since Hurricane Sandy - She tore a hole in the bottom of the ocean - Old fishing spots are no longer - Just my lousy opinion - 🇺🇸 GOD ❤️ BLESS 🇺🇸 AMERICA ❤️ 🇺🇸

Giorgio you are right about super storm sandy. I use to fish the pound nets by the coast guard in the bay and always caught fluke. When the dept was 20 feet and came up to ten feet. Right on that edge you always got fish. But no more. We were out by the light house in the ny bight looking at the verizano bridge and that’s where we had some action but no keepers under ny laws. Didn’t see any bird activity and no false albacor3 anywhere. Im hoping next trip next week we see some action I will post here if we get out next week maybe I will see you out here some day.

Step, good luck next week - Sorry I don't fish any longer - I'm handicapped now - I sure do miss it - You saw what that storm did to the
Old Orchard Light - Took it down - Check out the pictures - I don't know if it still looks like that - Hopefully they cleaned it up -Black fishing use to be pretty good there, I wonder if it still might be -

Giorgio, you can still go fishing. You don’t have to go on a boat to fish you can go to a lake or a river or the piers and just wet a line. Just being by the water is what it’s all about. You can do it. That is some picture of the light house. Really bad. I was fishing by two light houses. Right past the Verrazano bridge if you are coming out by the Verrazano heading towards sandy Hook closer the the bridge. There are two light houses. Still intact. I think one of them is roomers shoal. I m ashamed to say I don’t know where old orchard or was. I have been fishing my whole life and don’t know where those spots are. I just know let’s go fishing. A few spots. That I do know I think everyone knows. ). What about Ambrose light house. That’s gone too far the Ambrose platform I think is still there but I’m not sure. I remember looking for the Ambrose structure. It looked. Like a horse. Gone. But you c@n get to the water. I’m sure of it

Step, I can't fish, I can't walk, I wish I could - As a matter of fact I'm thinking of selling all my reels and sticks - The one off the VZ bridge is West Bank Light and the other is - Your right, it's Roamers - West Bank, right off of Ambrose Channel, buoy 17 is a great Striper spot, early in the season That's where I caught my biggest bass, 38lbs - I remember when the Ambrose Light was a ship - My father use to deliver the papers every Sunday to them, when he was young, weather permitting - Those workers were there for 6 months at a time - Pictures are of the light ship and both the ship and the horse - There use to be some monster Blues caught off that tower
