Wiring

from my best recollection for most domestic engine wiring
Red= 12 volt constant
Black= 12 volt ground
purple=key on 12 volts
yellow/red stripe= starter circuit
Tan= temp
Tan/blue stripe= alarm circuit
light blue=oil pressure
light brown=trim
gray=tach signal
green = hull ground
black/yellow stripe=stop circuit on outboards
purple/white stripe and sometime black/white stripe=choke or enricher
light blue/white stripe(sometimes just light blue) trim up
green/white stripe(sometimes just green) trim down
purple/white stripe=trailer trim
Yamaha/Suzuki/Honda all have their own colors
hull wise, normally i see pumps all dark brown with colored stripes for more than one pump(each pump gets its on color stripe)
lights are generally gray, with stripes for multiple lights
