Update on my 3 years of modifications...

I thought I'd give an update on my V20. I started way, way too many projects at once, but now I'm refocused and prioritizing. I lost my mind during the Covid lockdown, and was so stressed that I channelled all of my angst into an obsession of buying equipment piecemeal and planning...

    My 2 week trip

I'm leaving tomorrow to take a 2 week vacation to the cape cod area. I'm trailering the V20 about 600 miles from Arlington, VA to Plymouth MA. Today I have to clear out the excess stuff in my V20, put the boat in the water, and ensure that my trailer's ready for the trip. I started this...

Any ideas for a good dashboard design...

I've been do a ton of work to my V20. I bought electronics galore, and built a new dashboard layout.... The problem is, it's really hard to read my two chart plotters. Does anyone have a layout or design that works. Just today, I was thinking that the trunion mounts would be good, because...

    Upgrades to the V

Used router on Ipe for bow pulpit... also got cutting board to use vs star board... So, I know it's almost a year later... but I thought i'd try to revive this thread. I bought a set of inexpensive router bits, and used them on some Brazilian hard wood called IPE to make my own bow pulpit...

Anyone know the transom angle on a V20

I have a 1984 V20 with the cuddy cabin and an outboard. When I get to my boat, I'll try to measure the transom angle, but I was wondering if anyone knows. I'm considering a used armstrong bracket for my outboard... but that's assuming that the angle is correct or at least close to the transom...

    Affordable tow vehicle......

That makes sense. I thought I'd liven up this thread, with a truly affordable tow vehicle that I used to own. :you: Yep... I was *that guy* at the dock, and a source of entertainment for all. That's a DC Duck pulling me out... nothing beats an amphibious, 6 wheel drive WW2 military...

    Anchor bow roller install

@scook -- yours could be OK. I depends upon the size and type of anchor that someone wants to use. I guess the question is more for the O.P. to answer. That's really cool, @skunkBoat. Since my homemade bow pulpit will have to be built again (it warped), I think that I'll buy a roller...

    Anchor bow roller install

I'm looking forward to your experience, @ashokrags. I started adding an anchor roller myself, but it's still a work in progress. I think that the roller that I bought is a little too small, and I made a bow pulpit out of Maple wood, but I didn't seal it yet, and the wood warped from being...

    Fish Beware! Build Thread...

Towing mirrors for my truck (4Runner) There really are no good options for mirrors on a 4Runner, and my V20 is so big that I can’t see when backing up. I found a solution. I purchased some convex motor cycle mirrors off of Amazon Then I got an expanding rubber bushing with a nut in it...

    Fish Beware! Build Thread...

Tower with Rocket launchers... OK. The dual batteries are going in the back under the deck. Here's an update, and tease of things to come. I've got so many projects going at once, that it's hard for me to keep up! I put on a tower-in-a-box from Atlantic tower, and I LOVE it! It took me...

    AutoPilot anyone?

Raymarine autopilot... I'm getting the raymarine EV-150 Autopilot. It's a package that includes the pump, a 9-axis sensor, a hydraulic pump and a main control unit. List price is $2K. It also includes a control that has some buttons and rotary knob. It sounds sweet. The smaller EV-100...

Adding tower w/ Rocket Launcher (inexpensively)...

So, the tower that I put up I didn't care for. It could shake too easily, and I don't think it was beefy enough. I thought about, what happens if a big swell throws someone off balance, and they grab the tower to catch themself.... and the thought that I didn't know if it would hold was...

    Noob Question on Offshore Venture

Oh yeah.... I buried some cash in *your* back yard too. Lemme know when you find it, and I'll give you half. :oh: Great to still have you around. I can't recommend trim tabs highly enough. The top two manufacturers are Bennett and Lenco. My impression is Lenco's strength is electric...

    Fish Beware! Build Thread...

Update.... wires, wires, wires! OK. It's not a photo, but here's a graphic of the wiring upgrade I'm considering. I've added a radar arch from Atlantic towers... but still need to wire up my spreader lights, antennas, etc. I'm also relocating the battery, adding a 2nd battery, and...

    Another post about photos...

Is it OK with the Moderator to post photos to *this* site? I like that approach, and it's easy to do. I have a question for the @moderator or one of the senior members, Is there a concern about storage space and bandwidth usage? I ask because posting photos the way that @Giorgio described...
