    Mercury throttle control

It became a federal law when they passed the Covid Laws 4 or 5 years ago. Coast Guard tacked it onto the Covid Relief Package.

20 gal fuel tank side mounted needs cleaned

Wow, that V looks great. It was well taken care of. Can’t comment on saddle tanks, but I would think easier to get to than a belly tank. You mentioned scalloping, so I’m guessing Florida gulf coast? I’m in the north zone, our season doesn’t open till Aug 16.

    What are they?

Funny you mention sturgeon, friend of mine was wade fishing for trout last week, had a 6 ft sturgeon swim right by him. Scared the bejesus out of him. First thing he thought was shark, then he saw the back and thought gator. He said that was worse than a shark. Then he realized what it was.

    Stringer

Probably most have some wood rot. What I have always heard about stringers was that the strength is the fiberglass, not so much the core material. The transom is all about the core...

    Stringer

Easy way to check for stringers issues is the limber holes. They are the holes in the stringer where it ties into the transom. When wellcraft built these hulls, they just drilled holes and left the exposed wood unsealed. Usually where rot begins. If they would have sealed these holes and the...

Mixed bag, with a new species

Never heard of Scungilli, looked up the recipe, gonna have to try it. Funny that it’s a traditional Christmas Eve meal. We always have oyster stew on Christmas Eve . We’re gonna get some more, no harder to clean that scallops or crabs. Thanks for the scungilli tip

    LIFTED HER SKIRT

Cfelton, have u ever used a product called Linebacker? It’s kinda like spray on cosmoline. My 83 merc on my V20 was starting to get crusty, so I cleaned her up and sprayed it down with Linebacker. Stopped the corrosion, but what a PIA to work on. It got everywhere when I touched that engine...

JUNE 1, RED SNAPPER SEASON OPENING DAY

Thanks guys. It was all this old man wanted to wrestle with. As far as the cat, she got the short end of the stick. Cleaned all the fish at my friend's house, no scraps for OZ. I never really saw the fish until we got back to the dock. I was fishing off the bow and fish came up along the...
