Went out to test rebuilt lower unit...success!!! No more "clunk"!! Motor ran great at cruise speed...38 MPH at 5400 Problem it wont run below 2100 rpm without using the key primer to keep it running....idle smooth in neutral, but as soon as you put it in drive it dies Fresh fuel New filters...

So, my home elevation is about 4100 ft, the local lake is at 4100 feet. The majority of my fishing is in Baja at sea level. Is there a need to re-jet for this change in elevation or just understand that there will be a performance difference? Am I at risk of hurting anything? Cheers Headed...

Any V20 folks out there on the West Coast? We're in southern AZ, frequently go to Baja (Sea of Cortez)...

So, after an extensive search of these pages and the internet, Ive come up empty. Trying to locate a V21 windshield. Original builder was Taylor, they dont have the templates any longer and want $3-4000 to build a custom one!!! I did find a decent V20 windshield...might try to modify it to...

Thinking about a repower...boat Im looking at is reported to have 2 cylinders down on compression and possible scoring. I have an older 185 Airslot with a fresh rebuild of a Johnson 130...big enough for the V21...??

Just checking to see if there are any Airslots still floating around? Ours is 1 1974 185 sport...1995 Johnson 130....occasional lake use in southern AZ, but mostly in the Sea of Cortez in northern Baja....

Still looking to upgrade my 75 185 airslot...looking at a clean 95 190ccf....any tips or hints...about 4 hrs away

Came back from fishing in the Sea of Cortez, tied up to our friends mooring buoy...cooked up a batch of triggerfish fish tacos...couple of cervezas and bed time... .awake the next morning to the sunrise, sipping on coffee...I notice that I cant see the red stripe on my 74 Airslot 185...

So...each trip down to Baja and each morning we launch and have to run the bilge pump forever...same thing at the ramp...pull the plug and it drains forever...put the plug in...added garden house and voila! found the leak starboard side lower engine mounting bolt Best technique for repair...

Had to run the bilge pump alot during our Baja fishing adventure...cleaning up the boat today...found the source of the leak: there is about an 8-10" linear gash on the inside of the port "sponson"...thru the glass (i can push on it with pretty good flex) I believe it was courtesy of my...

So...just returned after a few days fishing in Baja....had to run the bilge pumps several times per day every day at the end of the last day...after running the bilge pump till "empty" ...pulled the transom drain and lots of water still came out... seas were flat...no known or obvious hull...

a couple of before and after shots...decided to lose the tangerine vinyl and striped astroturf...to nautolex and upgrade the cockpit a little' sweet ride..loaded with 4 aboard and gear....flat seas at 39mph(gps) with the bimini top up!!

So...took the ole Airslot with its 140 Rude out on the Sea of Cortez (Baja) last weekend...had a blast...fully loaded ( 4 guys and gear) trimmed out to 39 MPH GPS......cruised out to the inshore islands,,,,caught coolers full of triggers ands spottie back again in October

The prior owner of my 79 Airslot, pulled some of the foam to install water separator and swim step on the transom. Need to source some replacement foam blocks...looking for source...probably talking about 4-5 sq ft total...just the port side of the transom.. thanks
