I currently have a 1995 johnson 150hp on my ‘1983’ v20 Fisher (weight 375lbs). I’m looking at replacing it with a 2000 OptiMaxx that weighs 525lbs. Is this going to be to much weight or HP for the boat? I know the boat is rated for 200 or 225hp but this was 30 years ago when motors weighed...

So I recently acquired a 1984 welcraft v20 fisherman. Boat is in good condition no soft spots except for some of the fish box lids that I plan to replace with starboard anyway. But after reading on this forum a bit I was wondering about the fuel tank. It seems like there is a lot of leaking...
