cant find the dam thing

try and find a tahoe, suburban or a yukon with barn doors and cloth seats. i cant stand leather seats and i really want barn doors. quite a few trucks in my range but not the ONE.
this is gonna be tougher than i thought.

nah smoke, joe's dont have the barn doors or the cloth interior. great find at a great price but that's all i see. figure it's gotta turn up sooner or later but it's dam near driving me mad.
i may have to start riding my kid's mini bike to work.

keep at it you'll find one.... my mom got a 03 burb a few months ago... looked for it forever before it finally popped up. She wanted cloth and a tailgate...

That will be a rare find. Barn doors were on my wish list and I wanted the 9th seat which meant a cloth bench in front. From the few I found at the time it seemed that the only people who ordered this combo were Churches and rental car companies.

In the end I wound up with leather, 8 seats and a hatch.

You can't always get what you want I guess.

Mine is a 2002 and has cloth seats, but hatch back, was nice to see that the window opens separate then the tail gate also.
CTT start looking further away then Long Island, not to many in that area! There are a few nice ones here but I think the Barn Doors is going to be tuff?

The newer hatches are alot easier to use, hence why barn doors were such a rareity. Heck I don't think I've ever seen one newer than about 02 with barn doors on it. And that was a BURB. Haven't seen very many TAHOES with barn doors PERIOD!

i have a hatch back on an 02, after driving vans with barn doors for years, i refer the hatch back. two main reasons
1 can open just the glass and set small things in & out
2 protection from the rain as i unload

I know a Land Rover isn't a Burb or anything like that, (it's better), :butt:... but I have one huge barn door (not the split style) and I love it... open it up, it swings completely out of the way and I have unlimited access to the interior storage area. No overhead hatch limiting manuvering bulky objects and no bottom hatch making me lean far over just to load something. I'll take the barn door style over the hatch any day.

Not to mention opening the barn doors means you have to unhinge them and swing them to the sides of the truck to get wide things in. And they always seem to get in the way. I know the earlier trucks with tailgates were a pain, and the tailgates were always rotting out. the hatches don't have that problem as they allow you to walk all the way up to the back, full access without swinging the doors to the sides, and like mentioned you have teh glass taht opens to allow access for small items.

Its not like ctt is going to buy anything anyway!! He looks for a year and moves on I looked for a week and have in the yard! Lets go CTT $hit or get off the pot!!

I've had burbs with both barn doors and tailgates.... I absolutely HATE the barn doors.... you might as well just take your rear view mirror off of the windshield and trash it.... sure you can mostly see behind but small cars and bikes regularly disappear in the void in the center... once I nearly backed over a buddy who was standing behind me... He was looking the other way and didn't know I was moving... another friend ran up and stopped me....

Charlie, basically whats been said, hatch and seperate window are nice, you can load int eh rain with out getting wet, the barn doors will close on you when you really don't want them to, and the blind spot is a pain in the ***, especially if you are looking in the rear view to spot vehicles with lights on the roof if you get my drift

I'll toss in another tidbit... My mom has always hated leather seating and refused to consider it in her burb... she said she never felt planted in leather seats... said it felt like she was sliding out of them...

Well she found one she just loved but it had leather so I told her I'd find her some cloth seats and she got it... within a week she decided to keep the leather because she said they weren't like other leather seats she had been it and they were actually very comfortable for her....

Might be totally irrelevant to your dislike of them but just something to consider.

My Jeep Cherokee has vinyl/fabric seats... my Land Rover has leather. Can't really say that I like one better than the other. Both are comfortable. Both vehicles have about the same amount of miles on them (110,000)...But the vinyl part of my Jeeps seat on the drivers side has started to split from the wear and tear of entering and leaving the vehicle..and the leather on my Land Rover drivers seat still looks like new... Leather wears better then vinyl. Just something to think about. :head:
